16th-May-2008 06:40 pm - THE LONG NIGHT OF THE MUSEUMS...
frage
The world has gone crazy.

It seems like the best opportunity for any museum to earn money is to work at night... But when they work late on the Museum Night it is evident that they manage to do something that really touches, enchants, surprises...

So why then don't the museums start working only at nignts?

It is well-known that children like going out at night because it creates mystical atmosphere...

Maybe we should change museum policy and start surprising the visitors?

Museum is a place where you can find yourself… ‘cause museum’s aim is to provoke your thoughts and to help you identify yourself in this world. These words can seem pathetic… Well, as for me they used to seem so. Only after having graduated from my Alma Mater and working in a museum, I realised that it’s really not just a “boring place with thousands of pictures hanged on the walls”.

Museums originated with people's interest in collecting and accumulating precious, beautiful, and curious objects. But now… it’s a place where you (amateur, layman) IDENTIFY yourself.

Modern public museums from the Renaissance to the present day have changed dramatically. Now it’s not for connoisseurs. IT IS FOR YOU!

It is able to become your page-turner, but don’t read it in one gulp.

Museum is officially a “public place”… Nonetheless, it’s not aimed at the “public”, but at each and every individual. Every visitor is unique and some of them can “read this museum book”, some of them are still not prepared. Our aim (mine in particularly) is to pick out & break these obstacles between YOU and a museum.
